Newtown woman faces warrant, drug charges

According to police reports, Kimberly Rosenthal, 25 of Gopher Road was stopped by police during a special traffic detail on Currituck Road for traveling too fast.

Police discovered Rosenthal had a suspended license and an outstanding warrant for her arrest for failure to appear in court stemming from a previous motor vehicle violation in Ridgefield, according to police.

Police say they also found less than 4 ounces of marijuana and drug paraphernalia in Rosenthal's car.

Rosenthal was charged on the warrant, operating a motor vehicle under suspension, possession of a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia , traveling too fast for road conditions and using a cell phone while operating a motor vehicle, according to police. Rosenthal was released on $1000 bond and is due in court May 8.
