News Briefs: Chanukah Chocolate Factory, Operation Fuel assistance program under way

WESTPORT — The Weston/Westport Hebrew after-school program will offer a Hanukkah Chocolate Factory and Open House from 4 to 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 12, at the Norfield Grange, 12 Good Hill Road, Weston. The cost is $8 per child. The Chocolate Factory will feature chocolate crafting activities, Hanukkah crafts, menorah wood working, dreidel sand art, Meet Judah Maccabee, refreshments and more. The program is open to all. The Hebrew School program is accepting registration for its new semester, which begins on Jan. 2. Operation Fuel assistance program underway
HARTFORD — Operation Fuel and its statewide network of fuel banks has begun taking energy assistance applications for the upcoming heating season. Families and individuals who are in financial crisis and need energy assistance should call 211 to find their closest fuel bank. Operation Fuel provides year-round emergency energy assistance statewide. This past fiscal year, Operation Fuel provided more than $3.3 million in energy assistance to nearly 7,900 households.
