Golfers get a chance tonight to judge whether the newly hired maintenance contractor for Longshore Golf Course will be par for addressing the complaints about conditions at the municipal links over the last few seasons.
Manager of ValleyCrest Golf Maintenance -- which in January signed a three-year contract to maintain the 18-hole golf course -- will be at the Town Hall auditorium at 7 p.m. today to meet with the public and answers questions about plans to upgrade conditions.
ValleyCrest Vice President of Business Development John Crowder and National Director of Operations Terry McGuire will attend, and introduce Golf Course Superintendent Ryan Segrue. Todd Bunnell, the firm's director of agronomy, and Vince Gilmartin, northeast director of maintenance operations, will also be available to address both current course conditions and plans for the future, according to town officials.
"With over 75 golf courses nationwide in their portfolio, we are looking forward to put ValleyCrest's expertise at work here at Longshore," Parks and Recreation Director Stuart McCarthy said in a statement.
