A motor vehicle stop Monday night led to the arrest of a Fairfield woman on illegal drug charges.
Susan Ebel, 19, of Oakwood Drive in Fairfield, was charged with possession of narcotics and possession of drug paraphernalia.
Ebel was stopped on Long Lots Road around 7 p.m. Monday, police said, and as the officer questioned the car’s occupants, he detected an odor of what he suspected to be narcotics, according to the report.
Police service dog Chase was taken to the scene and indicated to his handlers that narcotics could be in the vehicle, the report said. A search of the vehicle turned up drug paraphernalia, empty heroin folds and a packet of heroin, police said.
Ebel was released on a promise to appear Aug. 31 at state Superior Court in Norwalk.
