A woman incarcerated in New York has been extradited to face charges that she burglarized a Westport business last year.

Theresa Clinding, 45, whose last address was in Hempstead, N.Y., was charged last week with third-degree burglary at Splatter Box, a children's art studio on Post Road East, in June 2012. Police said she was tied to the break-in by reports from witnesses who gave authorities information about the car she used to flee from the scene, which was registered in her name.

Clinding is a suspect in similar crimes in other communities in Connecticut and New York, police said.

Bond was set at $75,000 and she is scheduled to appear July 16 in Norwalk Superior Court.
