A New York state resident is facing drug charges following a motor vehicle stop on the Sherwood Island Connector on Sunday evening.

Charles Steuer, 46, of Bohemia, N.Y., was charged with two counts of possession of narcotics and illegal storage of narcotics outside of the proper container.

Subsequent to the motor vehicle stop about 5:10 p.m. Sunday for speeding, Steuer was "found to be in possession of prescription medication that was not prescribed to him," according to a police report.

He was held in lieu of $25,000 and is scheduled to appear Aug. 19 in Norwalk Superior Court.
