WESTPORT — A New York man allegedly dragged a woman he was with out of a car by the hair and repeatedly kicked her in a Westport parking lot.
Bystanders called police around 2 p.m. on Feb. 28 when they saw the alleged assault in the Walgreens Pharmacy parking lot at 880 Post Road East. Witnesses said a man had dragged a woman by her hair from a car, kicked her in the stomach and face and would not let her get up, then both had left together in a car, according to police.
When an officer stopped the car just under a half a mile down the road, Christian Garciaduqe was in the driver’s seat and a woman was beside him, bleeding from her wrist. Police said the woman’s knees and elbow were scraped, cut and bruised, and she had a cut on her lip and scrape on her face.
Police arrested Garciaduqe and charged him with third-degree assault and breach of peace. The 37-year-old resident of 156th Street in Flushing, N.Y. was taken into custody on the misdemeanor charges. His bond was set at $1,500.
