The Tony Award-winning play "Master Class," will be on stage from Nov. 1-17 at Music Theatre of Connecticut's MainStage.
In "Master Class," legendary opera diva Maria Callas takes the audience to one of her famous master classes where, late in her own career, she dares the next generation to make the same sacrifices and rise to the same heights that made her the most celebrated, the most reviled and the most controversial singer of her time.
Leading the cast of "Master Class" as Maria Callas is Irene Glezos, who has performed in theaters both regionally and Off-Broadway. Also in the cast are John Flaherty, Charlotte Munson, Andrew Ragone, Emma Rosenthal, Kevin B. Winebold. The play is directed Kevin Connors, who serves as executive artistic director and co-founder of the theater company.
Shows are Fridays and Saturdays at 8 p.m., with matinees Saturdays at 4 p.m. and Sundays at 2 p.m., at Music Theatre of Connecticut's MainStage, 246 Post Road East. The 2013-14 MTC MainStage Season continues next year with the Broadway comedy "God of Carnage," running Jan. 31 to Feb. 16, and the world's longest-running musical "The Fantasticks," running April 11 to May 4.
