A 32-year-old motorcyclist was seriously injured in a crash with a minivan Sunday afternoon on Compo Road North.
The collision took place about 4:30 p.m. Sunday when a silver Dodge Caravan headed north on Compo Road North, apparently failed to yield the right-of-way to a motorcyclist traveling south on Compo Road North, police said, colliding approximately 250 feet north of the Post Road entrance to Winslow Park.
Emergency-services personnel arriving on the scene found the motorcyclist -- Bart Valiant of Westport -- lying on grass near the park entrance. Valiant was transported by Westport EMS for treatment of injuries described as "serious" at Norwalk Hospital, according to the report.
The driver of the mini van -- Jean O'Dell, 66, of Westport -- was not injured in the accident.
The accident remains under investigation, police said.
