WESTPORT — A Monroe woman allegedly used her father’s Facebook account to send a child derogatory messages about their parent in October.
Police said Margaret Hyman, 37, logged into the account on her cell phone and sent the disparaging messages to the under 18-year-old. Detectives looked into Hyman as a suspect because of a protective order barring her from contact with the parent of any sort. A woman at a North Avenue residence called police to report the messages.
Hyman, a resident of Hillcrest Road in Monroe, was arrested in Westport last June, charged with stalking and harassment, both second-degree. She had allegedly mailed photos to her ex-boyfriend showing the Westport home of his current girlfriend. Before that incident, police had warned Hyman not to have contact with her ex or his new girlfriend.
For the October incident, Hyman turned herself in to police on March 2 for the warrant out for her arrest. The 37-year-old was charged with second-degree harassment, risk of injury to a child and criminal violation of a protective order. Her bond was set at $10,000 ahead of a March 13 court date.
