Right-hander Austin Mills was instrumental in the Westport Senior Legion team breaking a four-game losing streak Sunday by hurling six shutout innings in an 8-1 victory over Fairfield at Seaside Park in Bridgeport.

Mills allowed only five hits and struck out two while having perfect control with no walks. With the win, Westport raised its record to 3-6. Fairfield dropped to 3-8.

The game was scoreless going into the sixth inning when Westport scored three runs. James Frusciante had an RBI single and Zach Mitchell hit a two-run double up the middle.

Westport broke it open with five in the seventh and took advantage of Fairfield's pitcher walking many batters. Nick Kiedasch started the rally with a single and Jonathan Friedman had an RBI single.

Mtchell was 2-2 and Frusciante had two RBI. Alex Ludel had a hit an RBI for Westport. Also delivering hits for Westport were Marco Romero, Ben Greenberg and Alex Gandolfo.

Lefty Chris Speer pitched the seventh inning for Westport.

Before getting its win over Fairfield, Westport lost 5-2 at Greenwich Saturday. Righty John Lobello started for Westport and gave up three earned runs through 2 1/3 innings. Right-hander Mitch Gilbertie relieved Lobello and gave up no earned runs through 3 2/3 innings. Romero was 2-4 with a run scored and Alex Bauer was 1-3 with an RBI. Mitchell and Gandolfo each had a hit.
