Two men have been charged on warrants issued by Westport police, in unrelated cases, with violating protective orders by contacting women via text messages despite being prohibited from doing so, according to reports.
In the first case, Terrance S. Cummings, 32, of Norwalk was arrested on a warrant last Friday and charged with criminal violation of a protective order. Police said he violated the order by contacting a former girlfriend by sending her text messages.
Cummings posted $2,500 bond and was scheduled to have appeared Monday in Norwalk Superior Court.
In the other case, Anthony J. Torre, 57 of Derby was charged on a warrant Sunday with criminal violation of a protective order.
Police said Torre violated the order by contacting his ex-wife via text and voice messages.
Torres's bond also was set at $2,500 and he was scheduled to appear Monday at Superior Court in Norwalk.
