The state's annual service for the victims of the Sept. 11, 2001, terrorist attacks, which takes place at the memorial in Westport at Sherwood Island State Park, is planned for Tuesday.

The 12th annual service at the memorial to the 161 victims of the attacks will start at 5:30 p.m., and will include the reading of the victims' names.

The site of the memorial was also used as a staging area for Connecticut's relief efforts to New York City in the aftermath of the attacks.

Relatives of those who lost their lives in the attacks have been invited to join the ceremony, according to state officials.
