Did the dog eat your tickets to the 85th Academy Awards at the Dolby Theatre in Hollywood?

Did you decide not to go because Giorgio Armani was so busy with Angelina they couldn't guarantee your gown would be ready?

No problem. Westport film fans still can hit the red carpet on Sunday, Feb. 24 -- if not at the Oscars, then at Oscar's Deli on Main Street.

The popular eatery will be the venue for the Westport Cinema Initiative's second annual n'Oscars (Not the Oscars) party from 1 to 3 p.m. at the 159 Main St. deli -- across the street from where the cinema group plans to open an intimate, multiscreen movie house. Admission is free.

Sponsors said the event will feature a trivia contest about Academy Awards past and present and about Westport's own film history. Prizes include memberships at the Film Forum and IFC, as well as tickets to the Tribeca Film Festival, Lincoln Film Society, Jacob Burns Film Center, and a taping of the Bravo network's "Inside the Actor's Studio."

Copies of Academy Awards ballots will be available, and attendees can compete for prizes in a predictions contest.

In keeping with the movie theme, free popcorn will be available, and food may be purchased from the Oscar's Deli menu. Wine also will be available.

WEBE-FM radio personality Storm N. Norman will emcee, joined by Westport film critic Susan Granger, whose capsule reviews appear in the Westport News and other papers in the Hearst Connecticut Media Group.

The Westport Cinema Initiative will be selling charter memberships, which include a numbered membership card, a $2 discount on off-site screenings until the new theater opens, a discount on first-year membership when the theater opens, and other benefits.

Charter memberships are $75, $50 for students and seniors, and $110 for couples.

As for the real red carpet on Feb. 24, ABC-TV's live coverage begins at 7 p.m., and the awards show begins at 8.
