The event, “Something Wonderful: A Gala Evening Celebrating Kelli O’Hara,” will take place Sept. 21 at the Powers Court theater. O’Hara was awarded a Tony this spring for best lead actress in a musical for her performance in the revival of “The King and I.”
Morrison played opposite O’Hara in “The Light in the Piazza,” for which they both were nominated for Tony Awards. He also portrayed Lt. Cable, while O’Hara played Nellie Forbush, in the Tony Award-winning revival of “South Pacific” at Lincoln Center Theater.
Morrison currently stars on Broadway as J.M Barrie in the musical, “Finding Neverland.” He also recently wrapped the final season of the musical comedy television series “Glee,” where he portrayed the director of the glee club, Mr. Schuester. The show received Golden Globe Awards for “Best Television Series — Comedy or Musical” in 2010 and 2011.
Proceeds from the event benefit the Westport Country Playhouse, a non-profit now in its 85th season.
