Matthew Tumidajski, 23, of Fairfield, was charged Saturday after being stopped on Post Road East for driving with a rear marker plate illuminated with a blue, "neon-type" light, police said.
After Tumidajski was pulled over, the officer said he smelled what he believed was the odor of marijuana coming from the open driver's window, police said. A search of the vehicle produced marijuana and drug paraphernalia, and a black, digital scale commonly used by narcotics sellers was also found, police said.
Tumidajski was charged with possession of a controlled substance, drug paraphernalia and sale of a controlled substance. He was released on $2,500 bond and is scheduled to appear Jan. 2 in Norwalk Superior Court.
