Christopher Mahoney, 26, of New Haven, was charged with several motor vehicle violations Monday after being stopped on Interstate 95's Exit 18 southbound-entrance ramp.
Police said they discovered a warrant for Mahoney's arrest related to a failure-to-appear charge from West Haven police.
He was also charged with insurance coverage that failed to meet minimum coverage requirements, operating or towing an unregistered motor vehicle and failure to display plates or inserts.
Mahoney was taken into custody and later released on a $750 bond for the failure-to-appear charge with a March 1 court date in Milford Superior Court.
Mahoney was released on a $250 bond for the motor vehicle charges and is scheduled to appear Feb. 28 in Norwalk Superior Court.
