A 24-year-old Norwalk man faces charged after police said he tried to break into an apartment that he had previously shared here.
Aaron Everhart of North Main Street in Norwalk was charged with first-degree criminal trespass and third-degree criminal mischief in connection with the Saturday incident.
Police were dispatched to the scene about 11 a.m. to investigate a report that an unwanted person was in the complainant's apartment. Everhart had been living with the complainant prior to the complaint, police said, and returned to retrieve his belongings since they were no longer dating.
He allegedly broke a window to gain access to the apartment, but told police that the window came off the track as he was opening it.
He was released on a promise to appear June 2 at state Superior Court in Norwalk.
