A Norwalk man has been charged by Westport police with stalking and harassing a former girlfriend.

Michael Florio, 49, of the Rowayton section of Norwalk, was charged on a warrant Wednesday at Norwalk Superior Court where he was appearing on unrelated charges.

He faces charges of second-degree stalking, second-degree harassment and interfering with an emergency call. Bond was set at $25,000 and he was arraigned the same day.

The charges stem from an incident in May, when police said Florio used "numerous communication devices" to harass and intimidate a former girlfriend. He also confronted her in person at several places, according to the report.
