Man charged with larceny, stealing credit cards at Y
A Shelton man has been charged with breaking into lockers at the Westport Weston Family Y and stealing credit cards to make fraudulent purchases.
Ilir Gecaj, 41, was arrested Tuesday at Norwalk Superior Court on three active warrants issued by Westport police, charging him with offenses, including credit card theft, illegal use of a credit card, third-degree larceny, third-degree forgery and second-degree identity theft.
Police said Gecaj was identified on surveillance video stealing credit cards from lockers at the Y, and later used the cards to make purchases illegally. Police detectives were able to identify Gecaj from an earlier arrest for a similar incident, police said.
Total bond for Geraj on the three warrants was $60,500, and he is scheduled to appear on the charges Nov. 21 in Norwalk Superior Court.
