Man charged with assaulting brother with flashlight

A Florida man has been charged with assault after police said he struck his brother in the head with a flashlight in a dispute over money.

Charles Friedson, 53, of Fort Lauderdale, Fla., was charged after the incident last Friday about 4:45 p.m. in which he hit his brother in the head several times during the dispute, according to the report.

The brother had to be treated at a hospital for his injuries, police said.

Friedson was charged with second-degree assault and breach of peace.

Bond was set at $2,500 and he was scheduled to have appeared Monday in Norwalk Superior Court.
