A Norwalk man has been charged with third-degree assault in connection with an altercation at a Franklin Street home.

James Olivia, 52, of Delaware Avenue in Norwalk, was also charged with interfering with an emergency call after the Jan. 21 incident.

Officers were dispatched to the home about 11:30 p.m. Jan. 21 to investigate a reported disturbance, and found the door ajar. Inside, they found bleeding from a head wound.

Olivia had left the scene, but was found at his Norwalk residence a short time later according to the report. He was charged after officers determined that he had hit the victim in the face and then prevented the victim from calling 911.

He was held on $10,000 and scheduled to appear the next morning at state Superior Court in Norwalk
