Daniel Kang of Norwalk faces an assault charge after police said he was pummeling another man in the Charles Street commuter parking lot early Thursday.
Kang, 30, was straddling another man lying on the pavement and hitting him repeatedly when he was spotted shortly before 1:30 a.m. Thursday by an officer on patrol, according to the report.
The men knew each other, police said, and the victim had been a passenger in Kang's car. But when Kang told the man to leave his car and the other man initially refused, police said an altercation ensued as Kang physically removed the other man.
Kang was taken into custody and charged with third-degree assault. He posted a $500 bond and is scheduled to appear Nov. 20 in Norwalk Superior Court.
