Matthew Longcore, 40, of Norwalk, was charged early Thursday with driving under the influence.
Longcore was seen driving south on Saugatuck Avenue and almost struck the curbing as he veered sharply into the right lane, police said. As he turned onto the entrance ramp of Interstate 95, he failed to use a directional signal and was stopped, police said.
An officer said he smelled alcohol on Longcore's breath while he was speaking with him, according to the report. Longcore also failed field sobriety tests, police said.
Longcore was charged with operating under the influence of drugs or alcohol. He was released on $500 bond and is scheduled to appear Sept. 28 in Norwalk Superior Court.
