WESTPORT — Police are on the hunt for a man who held up a Chase Bank at 184 Main St. Thursday morning.

The robbery was reported at 11 a.m., when a middle-aged white man entered the bank, handed the teller a note demanding money and took an undisclosed amount of money. He fled on foot heading south on Main Street.

The suspect was seen wearing a white baseball hat, black sunglasses, a black zip-up hooded sweatshirt and a black backpack. He indicated he was in possession of a weapon, but did not produce one.

The bank was closed and blocked off with police tape shortly after the robbery. Officers could be seen standing guard by the doors of the bank and Westport detectives were on scene.
