Madeline Remlin Colby, 81, a native of Westport and resident of Milford the past four years, died May 5 in Yale-New Haven Hospital.

Born Jan. 1, 1930, in Westport, she was the daughter of the late Vincent and Lucy (Lynch) Remlin. Prior to retiring, she was a bookkeeper and formerly held a pilot's license with a certification for air and sea. She enjoyed sailing, gardening and spending time with her family.

Survivors include her children, Hank, Susan, Patrice, George and Tom; a brother, Robert Remlin; a sister, Margaret Marshall; 15 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren, and nieces and nephews..

A Mass of Christian Burial will take place at 10 a.m. Wednesday, May 11, in Assumption Church, 98 Riverside Ave. Burial will be in Assumption Cemetery, 73 Greens Farms Road. Memoiral donations can be made to any shelter for women and children in need or homeless animals.
