A live broadcast of Giuseppe Verdi's "Aida" will be held Saturday, Dec. 15, at Fairfield University's Regina A. Quick Center for the Arts, 1073 N. Benson Road, Fairfield. The showing, held through "The Met: Live in HD" program, will take place at 1 p.m., followed by a recorded broadcast at 6:30 p.m.

The New York Metropolitan Opera's production of this ancient Egyptian drama stars Liudmyla Monastyrska as the Ethiopian princess caught in a love triangle with the heroic Radamès, played by Roberto Alagna, and the Egyptian princess Amneris, sung by Olga Borodina. Fabio Luisi conducts, according to a release.

The program is a series of high-definition transmissions of the opera's new season from Lincoln Center's Metropolitan Opera House in New York City via cameras placed around the stage.
