Letter: Quick beach cleanup commended

As Westport residents who have been running or walking in the mornings at the beach for the last 40 years, we would like to commend the town administration, its workers, and the firms that were hired to clean up the beach area after Hurricane Sandy.

While things are not yet pristine, it is remarkable the way the mounds of sand have been removed and the broken sidewalks are being repaired. We had expected that many months would be required and that the sidewalks would not be reconstructed until after the winter.
