Even with a population of 26,000, Westport often feels like a small, cosmopolitan city. We can get our half caff, half soy caramel macchiatos from at least eight vendors. We have two Starbucks, unless you count the cafe at Barnes and Noble (we have our own Barnes and Noble!) and eight public schools.

Once our kids graduate from the organized sports portion of their lives, running into familiar faces becomes much less frequent.

But there is one thing that makes Westport feel like the small town it actually is -- people like Raffaella Sforza. In her two-room tailor shop stuffed with clothing yet to be mended, she welcomed her clients with a warm smile, attentive ears, and a huge heart.

No matter the issue, no matter how busy she was, she stopped everything to give you her full attention. And we love her for her honesty, letting us know what would work and what simply wouldn't. Raffaella, thank you for your kindness, your solutions, and your warm smile. You are irreplaceable, and we will miss you dearly.
