Letter: Newcomer thankful for kindness

In November, my family and I moved to Westport from Boston. Just prior to our move, we had our second daughter. Our first is just about to turn two, so needless to say, we have our hands full.
I have been staying at home with the girls since the move, adjusting to life with two under two and trying to get our family moved in and settled. It has been challenging, but the town of Westport has really come to my aid and I wanted to take the opportunity to say "thank you" to all the neighbors and strangers who have so selflessly helped me as we make these adjustments.
From the kind woman ahead of me (and the girls) at the grocery store who stayed and offered to bag my groceries, to the gentleman who walked me to the car to help unload, to the cheery man who gave my "eldest" stickers to help occupy her so I could get some Christmas shopping done -- from the bottom of my heart, thank you. You have made this new mom of two feel extremely welcome in your community, and I could not be prouder to be a part of it. I hope someday to return all the favors and make as big of an impact on someone's life as you have made on mine.
