Letter: Medical manager backs Lavielle

At this critical time when our state's vitality and future are in jeopardy, Gail Lavielle, our State Representative of the newly reconfigured 143rd district (comprising segments of Westport, Wilton, and Norwalk) deserves your vote for re-election on Nov. 6.
As the administrator of a Norwalk medical practice it is important to me that Rep. Lavielle is endorsed for re-election by Connecticut Doctors for Good Medicine (CDGM). Gail recently stood with the Fairfield County Medical Association, the Connecticut State Medical Society, medical providers and hospitals in voting against and defeating SB 243, "An Act Concerning Certificates of Merit." This was damaging legislation that would have relaxed the specialization requirements for medical experts who can validate the merits of a lawsuit before it goes to trial. Gail is a strong supporter of medical liability reform, and is committed to preserving access to quality healthcare by making Connecticut more hospitable to practicing physicians who want to establish their practices in Connecticut or simply continue practicing in the state.
Gail Lavielle is an actively engaged, productive legislator, and has introduced or co-sponsored 89 bills concerning taxation, transportation, education, commerce, and environmental issues among others, since she was elected in 2010. Most important, Gail Lavielle really listens to her constituents and is acutely aware of their concerns.
Let's re-elect State Rep. Gail Lavielle on Nov. 6 so that she can continue her work to lower taxes and cut unnecessary spending, revitalize and enhance our state's ability to compete nationally, improve the quality of life for all residents and make Connecticut a desirable place to live from birth through retirement.
