Letter: District 5's Gold has smarts, skills

I have been a Westport resident for the past 21 years and have known Peter Gold for that time. Peter has always had a very strong connection to the community. His intellect, his training as an attorney and his desire to help his town are really what would make Peter the choice for his district RTM. There are few who know Peter who would not comment on his ability to dissect a situation using his intelligence and training and be able to understand and make decisions about it.
These are the skills needed in such a leadership position. For as long as my family and I have known Peter we have had the strong opinion that he is one of the very few people that we know that would come to our aide no matter wherever or whatever he was doing. This, I believe, speaks to his exceptional character as a devoted friend.
Peter has been on the RTM in the past, as well as serving on the YMCA board. He was passionately devoted to the issues of the townat that time as I am certain he will be in the future. He spent hours with friends discussinghis concerns while in those positions.
I believe Peter would be a strong asset to the town and his district and I fully support his election to that post and urge those in his district to vote for him.
