It is my pleasure to endorse Jonathan Cunitz for re-election to the RTM as a representative from District 4.
Having worked with him for six years on the RTM, I saw how hard he worked in so many areas to make Westport a better place to live.
From his leadership on the plastic-bag ordinance to his membership and eventual chairmanship of the Long Range Planning Committee, Jonathan's focus and efforts have always looked to the future of the town. During the many RTM committee meetings he chaired on the Baron's South proposals, he asked tough questions but always was respectful of all points of view. This approach continued when he was appointed as an RTM consultant to the Baron's South Committee, where he worked to find the best solutions for this complex project.
This also dovetailed with his interest in seniors, which was evident as a member of the Health and Human Services Committee.
His concern with the environment was shown not only with the bag ordinance but also with his involvement in the development of the Sherwood Mill Pond Reserve and as a member of the Mill Pond Advisory Committee.
Since he came to the RTM, Jonathan has been one of the most respected members of the body. He has always been known for his effort and dedication to the betterment of the Town of Westport for all its citizens.
I hope you will join me in supporting Jonathan Cunitz for RTM representative for District 4.
