To the Editor:

There is no question that Connecticut is facing serious financial problems and needs responsible legislators to formulate workable solutions. The Connecticut Business & Industry Association (CBIA), the state’s largest business organization, with thousands of member companies, small and large, acknowledged that fact when — for the first time — it announced legislative endorsements for the Nov. 8 general election.

Among the state candidates endorsed by CBIA is Jonathan Steinberg, our incumbent representative for Westport’s 136th House District. In announcing its backing, CBIA said, “We believe the candidates we’ve endorsed have the ability to foster a business climate where companies want to invest and create jobs to help our economy grow.”

Based on Jonathan’s legislative record, this support comes as no surprise. I have known him for many years, starting with our service on the Westport RTM. What I’ve always admired about Jonathan is his willingness to work with everyone and anyone to find practical fixes to difficult problems.

Join me in voting for Jonathan Steinberg on Nov. 8 on Line A.
