Letter: Better behavior at Winslow Park needed
Updated 6:16 am, Monday, April 11, 2016
As a longtime resident of Westport and a pet owner, I am very grateful to the town for maintaining Winslow Park for pets.
However, I am getting increasingly concerned that some pet owners are ignoring the rules about areas where dogs are to be on leashes and the requirement to pick up after pets.
Today, a women had a dog loose in the restricted area and was on her phone when her dog became aggressive toward my dog. She finally got control of her dog and no harm was done.
If people continue to ignore the rules Westport could do what other towns have done — limit dog access to places like Winslow Park.
I would hope the dog warden takes notice and begins to fine people.
