Letter: Ancestor's kindness repeated

I am in my 60s and a Westport native, as was my mother and my grandmother. While researching my grandparents' home, where my aunt still lives, I learned that 90 years ago, Julia M. Gault was kind enough to co-sign for a 25-year mortgage that allowed my gandfather, an Italian immigrant, to buy land and build a home in Saugatuck.
(Last) week, Sam Gault honored his ancestor a mine by volunleering to have the 90-year-old furnace fixed so the house will make it through another winter.
Many thanks to Sam Gault and to Jim Donaher and his technician for solving a difficult situation when no one else would.
This was, to be sure, very humane.
