NEW YORK -- New York prosecutors have dropped all criminal charges against a woman who was once on the FBI's most wanted fugitives list for kidnapping her 2-year-old daughter.
Robert Nardoza , a spokesman for the U.S. attorney's office, told the Daily News (http://nydn.us/Wp3loY ) the decision to drop the charges against Yvette Torres was made "in the interest of the child."
Torres surrendered and returned her daughter Sabrena in September, a dozen years after kidnapping her. She had faced three years in prison.
Nardoza said the charges were dropped after consultation with all the parties involved.
Sabrena was returned to her father, Davis Beck IV of Hauppauge, Long Island.
Torres is accused of taking her daughter overseas with the intention of obstructing the parental rights of the father.
