Anne Keefe, former artistic director at the Westport Country Playhouse, will be honored by the Connecticut Women's Hall of Fame as a visionary in theater.

The Playhouse's artistic director for seven years before stepping down in 2006, Keefe has been named to receive a Voice and Vision Award from the hall during ceremonies Oct. 18 in Hartford.

She played a key role in the Playhouse's $31 million renovation, expansion and endowment.

Also among 10 vision honorees are the likes of broadcast journalist Diane Smith, soprano Jolie Rocke Brown, and choreographer Judy Dworin.

During the ceremony, the Hall of Fame will induct foreign-conflict correspondent Anne Garrels, photographer Annie Leibovitz, and radio broadcaster Faith Middleton.
