JoyRide Cycling Studio has rescheduled a satellite event for Cycle for Survival, a national indoor cycling event that raises funds for rare cancer research, for Saturday, March 16. It will take place at 11 a.m. at the studio, 1200 Post Road E.

The event was postponed from Feb. 10 due to the blizzard. Spots are still available. Last year, Team JoyRide raised more than $37,000.

More than 10,000 people are expected to participate in this year's Cycle for Survival, founded in 2007 by Jennifer Goodman Linn and her husband, Dave, after Jennifer was diagnosed with a soft-tissue cancer called sarcoma. Since then, its events have raised more than $20.4 million.

All of the funds raised go directly to Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center. JoyRide's 90-minute fundraising ride will be led by Rhodie Lorenz, the studio's co-owner and lead instructor from Westport, and accompanied by live guitar music by Scott Williams of Fairfield. Food and beverages will follow the ride.
