Janet Joyce Ardissone Flynn, 71, of Randolph, N.J., the wife of the late Donald Flynn, died Nov. 12, 2010, at her home.

She was the 1956 valedictorian and captain of the cheerleading squad at Emerson High School in North Bergen, N.J. She worked as an editor at McGraw Hill in New York City and, after having married in 1958 and raising a family, she worked as a school crossing guard in Ridgefield, N.J.

She is survived by her mother, Louise Ardissone of Randolph, N.J.; her children, Kathy Flynn and her children Daniel, Erika and Madeline Parisi of Westport; Judy Romano and her husband Greg and their children Alexander, Christopher and Elise Romano of Basking Ridge, N.J.; Danny Flynn and his wife Gordana and their sons Donald and Christopher of Randolph, N.J.; and Peter Flynn and his daughters Jessica and Megan of Flanders, N.J.

A funeral Mass will take place at 11 a.m. Nov. 24 in St. Patrick's Church, Chatham, N.J. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the MS Society's New Jersey Metro Chapter, 1 Kalisa Way, Suite 205, Paramus, N.J. 07652.
