Imogene Ann Moss Wimer, 72, of Weaverville, N.C., a former resident of Westport and wife of James Harold Wimer, died Aug. 29 at home.

Born Nov. 9, 1938 in Buckhannon, W.Va., she was the daughter of the late Ethel Gladys Green Moss and James Raymond Moss. She graduated from Buckhannon-Upshur High School in 1956 and attended West Virginia Wesleyan College in Buckhannon.

She worked as a real estate agent in Westport and was a volunteer for Westport schools and several local clubs.

In addition to her husband of 53 years, she is survived by two children and their spouses, Ronald Eric Wimer and Peggy Mevs of Westport, and Brenda Ann and Michael DeMattio of Weston; six grandchildren, David, Nicholas, Samuel, and Peter DeMattio and Gabrielle and Maximilian Wimer; an uncle, Lonnie Green Jr. of Cowen, W.Va.; an aunt, Junie Goff of LaPlata, Md., and a sister-in-law, Imogene Wimer of Crawford, W.Va.

A celebration of her life will be held at a future date at the Straight Fork United Methodist Church in Rock Cave, W.Va., and her cremated remains will be buried in the Wimer Cemetery in Rock Cave.
