The Congregation for Humanistic Judaism has planned a family Hanukkah celebration on Sunday morning, Dec. 14, at Bedford Middle School.

The program begins at 10:30 a.m. at the 88 North Ave. school and is free and open to the public, the congregation said.

The event will include stories of Hanukkah, readings, songs and candle lighting. A party featuring food, arts and crafts and games will follow, the group said in a news release.

The group said the celebration will provide an opportunity for people interested in the congregation to see its Sunday school in session, learn about the group's philosophy and activities and meet members, which include interfaith families.

The congregation asked that those planning to attend call 203-293-8867 so it can prepare for enough guests.
