A New England Christmas House tour will feature three houses in Westport and two in Fairfield, decked out in designer holiday finery on Sunday, Dec. 8. The Westport Historical Society's 27th annual Holiday Tour will run from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. and conclude with a party.

The tour includes: a Federal-style home in a park-like setting; a 6,000-square-foot Adirondack-style log home; two Colonials, one with a touch of Golden Age Hollywood, the other with a study paneled with reclaimed 18th-century chestnut; and a designer home owned by author and television personality Mar Jennings.

Docents will be available in every room of the homes to discuss the decor and design features, and some designers will be present to answer questions. After the tour, there will be a party with hors d'oeuvres; wine and music and the chance to bid in live and silent auctions from 6 to 9 p.m. at Terrain, 561 Post Road East in Westport.

"This will be the event of the year when it comes to celebrating the holiday season," said Jennings, honorary chair of the event. "It will be like a Bing Crosby Christmas special."

All proceeds benefit the Westport's Historical Society.

Tickets are $40 for WHS members, $50 for nonmembers and $55 the day of the tour. The after-tour party is $75. For tickets, call the Westport Historical Society at 203-222-1424 or order online at www.westporthistory.org
