Harold J. Schlack, 93, a former resident of Westport, died June 2 in North Fort Myers, Fla.

Born Nov. 6, 1917, in Brooklyn, N.Y., he was the son of the late John and Emile Schlack.

He earned his degree in economics at the School of Commerce at New York University in 1950 and received a master's degree in business administration from the Graduate School of Business Administration at New York University in 1955. For 13 years, he worked as a secretary of the Salary & Pension Committee and served on the board of directors at Kenicott Copper Corp. in New York and later served as vice president and principal at Lambert M. Huppeler Co. in New York.

He lived in Westport for many years before moving to Summit, N.Y., and then to North Fort Myers, where he and his wife, the late Lillian Schlack, retired. He had served in the U.S. Army Corps during World War II as a captain.

In addition to his wife, he was predeceased by a son, Allen Schlack.

He is survived by a son, Ronald and his wife Joanna of Norwalk; a daughter in-law, Victoria Schlack of Wrightsville, Pa.; five grandchildren, Kevin, David, Rebecca Babb, Austin and Gene; and two great-grandchildren, Jake and Lillian.
