Even though cleanup from Hurricane Sandy's nasty bag of tricks continues today -- Halloween day -- town officials say Westport's little ghosts and goblins can go forth to collect treats for the holiday.

First Selectman Gordon Joseloff said Tuesday that observance of the holiday will not be posted this year, as it was last year in the wake of the surprise snowy nor'easter that socked the region.

He said that while trick-or-treating is OK today, parents are urged "use your best judgment of where it might be safe."

The treat-laden gremlins should plan to be home before dark, Joseloff added.
