WESTPORT — A Westport hairstylist is facing a larceny charge after she allegedly pocketed money that belonged to the business he worked for, police said.

In July 2016, Westport police responded to the haircutting franchise Supercuts, on Post Road East, after a manager claimed one of his employees stole money.

The manager claimed that 29-year-old employee Shereen Pascal, of Bridgeport, was seen pocketing money that was supposed to go into the store’s cash register.

Police said that video surveillance at the barbershop showed two separate incidences where Pascal took money from paying customers and deposited it straight into her own pocket.

Pascal took more than a year to turn herself in to police on an outstanding warrant, police said. She turned herself in on Monday.

Pascal was charged with sixth-degree larceny. She was released on a $2,500 bond, and is scheduled to appear in court on Sept. 13.
