Haines leads Newtown

REDDING - Kelley Haines scored 19 points - including a 6-for-7 effort from the foul line - to lead the Newtown High girls basketball team to a 49-32 victory over Barlow in a South-West Conference game Thursday night.

Becky Sheehan led Barlow with 11 points and eight rebounds. Emily Gould had three points and 13 rebounds and Ashley Scavo had four points and eight assists.

Barlow plays host to Masuk tonight at 7 p.m.
