Wakeman Town Farm will mark "Green Day" on Saturday afternoon, May 3, with free tours, agricultural demonstrations and activities for young children.

Between 1 and 4 p.m., the town-owned farm and education center will offer tours of its gardens and livestock areas, a hands-on demonstration of square-foot gardening and a homesteading workshop.

Also planned are sheep-shearing and wool-spinning demonstrations, plus a traditional May pole dance and a drum circle for children, the farem said in a news release.

The farm also will dedicate a new greenhouse and formally thank the Westport Woman's Club for its support of the farm.

Wakeman Town Farm is at 134 Cross Highway.
