Gloria Hartenbaum, 89, of Weston, died Sept. 13.
Born Gizelle Herskovits in Bixad Romania/Hungary, she and three sisters survived the Holocaust. She was the author of a book, "Gizelle, Save the Children," titled after the last instructions her mother gave to her when separated in a concentration camp. She had lectured on the Holocaust to groups and students around the nation.
She was married to the late Bela Hartenbaum for more than 50 years.
Survivors include her children, Ron Hartenbaum and wife Alexandra; son-in-law, Jon Currie; six grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren. In addition to her husband, she was predeceased by a daughter, Marge Currie; a daughter-in-law, Laura Hartenbaum, and a grandson, Michael Hartenbaum.
Funeral services took place Sept. 16.
