Glazier leads Hatters

MIDDLETOWN - The Danbury High swimming and diving team tied for 16th place in the Class LL state championship meet Wednesday night at Wesleyan University. Greenwich won the meet with 622 points; Xavier was a distant second with 315. Danbury scored 37 points. Alex Glazier led the Hatters. He tied for 10th in the 50-yard freestyle (23.43) with Xavier's Paul Renzi. Glazier also placed 15th in the 100 freestyle (51.86). The Hatters' 200 freestyle relay team of Matt Meier, Fred Hoffstaetter, Brian Donnegan and Glazier came in ninth (1:38.82), just two-tenths of a second behind Hamden in eighth.
